Paul Luchkow is a violinist well known to Salt Spring Islanders.  He has appeared as a soloist with Bach on the Rock and has performed twice for Salt Spring Baroque's concert series.  In addition to his varied appearances in BC, Paul is the concertmaster of the Alberta Juno award winning baroque ensemble Rosa Barocca (2023 Juno award in the category of best Classical Album of the Year – Small Ensemble), and for this concert he is joined by two of his Alberta colleagues Ronelle Schaufele on viola and Andrea Case on cello.

Their string trio will explore Bach's music through the lens of transcription, which demonstrates how flexible and transportable it can be. Works include a Trio Sonata written for organ, a selection of fugues arranged by Mozart with his own newly composed adagios to precede them, and a beautiful transcription of the keyboard monument: the Goldberg Variations.
